Will The Oakland Raiders Ever Change?

Since 2002, every year has gone the same way for Oakland Raiders fans—lots of hope at the begining of the year, then lots of disapointment at the end of the year.

2002 was a good year for the Raiders—Rich Gannon had a league-leading 4,626 passing yards and threw for 26 touchdowns.

The Raiders were 11-5 winning the AFC Championship, leading the league in passing yards per game and total yards per game. They went all the way to the Super Bowl, before getting whoped by the Tampa Bay Buccaners 48-21.

One Year Later…..

The Raiders are 4-12—The offense is 27th in passing yards per game and 25th in yards per game. Rich Gannon only plays 7 games and retires one year later. The Raiders go from AFC Champions to having the worst record in the NFL.

Raider fans were all left asking the same question:

What the hell happened?

Fast foward six years. We are in 2009 and the Raiders haven’t  won six games since 2002, which leaves …
