Gameballs

Jordan Shipley, Texas WR. Shipley’s career day — 11 catches, 273 yards — will help vault buddy Colt McCoy (470 passing yards) toward the top of Heisman lists again.

D.J. Williams, Arkansas TE. Williams caught seven passes for 137 yards in the 33-16 win over South Carolina. But his QB, Ryan Mallett, called him “clumsy” because he stumbled and fell at the 5-yard line on what looked to be a sure TD.

Daniel Thomas, Kansas State RB. He ran for 185 yards and a touchdown, and the surging Wildcats remained in control of the Big 12 North with a 17-10 victory over rival Kansas.

Clay Nurse, Illinois DT. Nurse had four of Illinois’ seven sacks in the Fighting Illini’s 35-32 victory over Minnesota. Hello, Nurse!
