Why The New York Rangers Will Win Game 7 Over The Washington Capitals

"It's a death row pardon two minutes too late And isn't it ironic... don't you think" from "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette The first rounds NHL playoff series between the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals has been full of irony and lacking in logic. The only way to predict the outcome of Game 7 is to go with the illogic of the opposite of the expected. The Capitals were expected to win the series, but the Rangers took an early lead. The Rangers road record was bad, but they won the first two ames in Washington. The Rangers were expected to upset somebody, as the dark horse, and turn into a Cinderella. Avery and Tortorella got upset and that was the end of "Averella." The Caps out-shot the Rangers by a wide margin, outscored them by a small margin, but the Rangers won the most games, until the Caps caught up to them in Game 6. They Game 6 is the hardest to win on the road, but the caps did it. Washington has the top scoring forward and defenseman in the NHL, in Alex Ovechkin and Mike Green, but the Rangers kept them pointless, game after game. The Rangers coach suspended New York's most valuable player.
