Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair was found dead, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head, according to CBS affiliate NewsChannel 5 in Nashville.
McNair was the third overall pick in the 1995 draft, taken by Houston Oilers. He stayed with that franchise through 2005 — a span that included a move to Tennessee, where the team became the Titans.
McNair then played two seasons in Baltimore before announcing his retirement in 2008 after a 13-year career.
NewsChannel 5 reports that police also found the body of a female victim, and believe the incident may have been a double homicide.
