Coverage in the secondary: Look back at the Boise State game to begin the season. The Broncos were successful in slowing the Oregon offense—the only team that has done so this fall—because it put the Ducks in predictable down-and-distance situations and then covered well in the secondary. The Buckeyes will get early stops in the running game, but it’s critical that they follow up in the secondary with tight coverage from physical CBs Chimdi Chekwa and Devon Torrence. Once Oregon gets comfortable in the run-to-pass ratio of the spread scheme, it’s next to impossible to stop.
