One of the most under-the-radar performances of the season has been the play of Atlanta Thrashers goaltender Johan Hedberg. The 36-year-old backup was sensational on Monday night, stopping 46 shots through overtime (and both shots he faced in a shootout) to help lead the Thrashers to a 3-2 win against the New York Rangers.
His best save of the night was a ing effort against New York’s Ales Kotalik late in the first period to keep the game scoreless.
