Tim TebowFinally, the wait is over: No. 1 Florida vs. No. 2 Alabama for control of the free world, or at least the SEC championship and a berth opposite Texas in the BCS championship game.

Ever since Sept. 20, the third week of the season, Florida, Alabama and Texas have been the nation’s top three ranked teams. For the past 11 Associated Press polls, the threesome have been lumped together atop the AP rankings. That should change after Saturday’s SEC championship game in Atlanta.

Besides the SEC, league champions also will be decided this week in the Big 12 (Texas vs. Nebraska), ACC (Clemson vs. Georgia Tech), Pac-10 (Oregon vs. Oregon State), Big East (Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh), MAC (Central Michigan vs. Ohio) and Conference USA (Houston vs. East Carolina).

  • 1. Florida (2)
The Gators (12-0) play Alabama in Saturday’s SEC championship game. FanHouse’s projected bowl: Citi BCS national championship vs. Texas, Jan. 7 in Pasadena, Calif.
  • 2. Alabama (1)
The Crimson Tide (12-0) play Florida in Saturday’s SEC championship game. FanHouse’s projected bowl: Allstate Sugar vs. Cincinnati, Jan. 1 in New Orleans.
  • 3. Texas (3)
The Longhorns (12-0) play Nebraska in Saturday’s Big 12 championship game. FanHouse’s projected bowl: Citi BCS national championship vs. Florida, Jan. 7 in Pasadena, Calif.
  • 4. TCU (4)<br …
