If there were to be a chemistry problem at West Virginia, the logical catalyst figured to be senior forward Da’Sean Butler.
He was the Mountaineers’ reigning scoring champ but was expected to lose that crown in a coup backed by teammate Devin Ebanks, a player whose considerable talent presented the chance for WVU to challenge for its first Final Four berth in five decades.
However, Butler isn’t your typical player. He openly embraced the idea of Ebanks progressing even if it meant his own shots might decrease. Butler still would get plenty of opportunities, and he’d do it with a better team.
